The players stand or sit in a circle formation. Each player follow the leader with the following four beats:

1. Touch your knees with both hands and say: "MÂU-ĐĂNG"

2. Touch your waist with both hands and say: "MÂU-ĐÊ"

3. Touch your shoulders with both hands and say: "MÂU-ĐẮP"

4. Clap both hands and say: "BÙM"

All players sing the beat 3 times.

Then the rhythm starts over again but in the second time, it is faster and the word for beat one is SILENCED.

Then the rhythm starts over again but in the third time, it is faster and the word for beat one and two is SILENCED.

Then the rhythm starts over again but in the fourth time, it is faster and the word for beat one, two and three is SILENCED and ONLY the word BÙM is said out loud.
